About The L.A. Complex

Small fish. Big pond. Huge dreams.

The L.A. Complex focuses on a select group of aspiring performers pursuing celluloid and stardom in LA. Moving into an apartment-style motel for displaced dreamers, each dubbed "most likely to succeed", they all face the challenges and opportunities of a lifetime.

For every bona fide starlet, there are countless cocktail waitresses. For every true rock star, there are hundreds of buskers on the pier. For every comedian with a hit sitcom, there are dozens of guys cracking jokes while pouring your coffee. In LA your life can change in the blink of an eye. On Monday, you might score some face-time with the big-shot producer. On Tuesday, you might drink the night away, just to cope with the loneliness. On Wednesday, you might sign that multi-million dollar contract. On Thursday, you might try to sleep your way to the top, only to end up in the gutter. But one thing is for sure - on Friday, the rent is due.

Nick Wagner

A cute struggling stand-up comedian from Edmonton, Nick is every girl's best friend but never the boyfriend. Loyal to a fault, he is always available to help someone out - in fact he agrees to let Abby share his room at The Lux, hoping that she'll think of him in a romantic way. Nick is open, vulnerable and adorable - the ultimate 'nice guy' who has been known to finish last.

Joe Dinicol
Stratford native Joe Dinicol joins THE L.A. COMPLEX cast as Nick, the struggling stand-up comedian who is every girl's best friend but never the boyfriend. The son of actor Keith Dinicol, Joe started his career as a child actor at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. On that stage, he has appeared in Antony and Cleopatra, Richard III, Waiting for Godot and The Merry Wives of Windsor. He has also appeared in The Needfire at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto.

Joe's television and television-movie credits include MURDOCH MYSTERIES, TRAIN 48, RIDEAU HALL, MY BABYSITTER'S A VAMPIRE, Fast Food High, LIFE WITH DEREK, EERIE INDIANA: THE OTHER DEMENSION, She's Too Young, SUE THOMAS: F. B. EYE, The Loretta Claiborne Story and THE FACTS OF LIFE REUNION.

Joe's film credits include Servitude, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Reviving Ophelia, Diary of the Dead, Jacob Two-Two Meets the Hooded Fang, Kart Race and Passchendaele.
