On April 10th, 2006, Tim Deegan became the first winner of MuchMusic VJ Search: The Series. Seen as the resident “nice guy,” Tim won the hearts of viewers with his positive attitude, his kind and caring nature, and of course, those awesome abs. So after his elimination by the judges’ panel, he easily bounced back into the game as the wildcard thanks to overwhelming fan support.
Just imagine if Tim hadn’t won VJ Search - he might have ended up as your local neighbourhood firefighter, or perhaps installing your new kitchen. Sure, that’s all fine and dandy - but when a man is as passionate about music as Tim is, you know that being a Much VJ is THE job for him. A massive fan of bands like blink-182, Goldfinger, Nirvana, Underoath, Cauterize and Rise Against, Tim’s also a veteran of numerous rock groups himself. This outgoing and stylish dude’s a natural performer skilled at hyping up a crowd and handling anything thrown his way. When Tim isn’t driving his friends mad with music knowledge or dressing like a rock superstar, he can be found checking out indie bands, hitting the hottest gigs or trying out the latest extreme sport. Much’s newest face definitely brings his own edge and spice to small screens across the nation.
RIGHT NOW, TIM WANTS PEOPLE TO KNOW…
Fitting the profile of the open-hearted and compassionate Sagittarius to a T, he’s concerned with environmental issues, war and violence, and global hunger. During VJ Search, he organized a benefit concert for a women’s shelter, and hopes to one day backpack and travel the world.

The Camera Never Lies: A dabbler in modeling, an agent told Tim he exudes the “X factor” that could bring him fame.
Where There’s Smoke…: As an eager firefighting student at Oshawa’s Durham College, Tim and his friends once followed a fire truck the wrong way down a one-way street.
Out of the Woodwork: Tim left Kitchener’s Conestoga College, where he was learning cabinet-making and carpentry, to join VJ Search.
Hot Hobbies: Tim stays in fine form by snowboarding, wakeboarding and mountain biking; he also drums in his spare time.
