Like an indie rock John the Baptist, Going Coastal co-host Chris Nelson brings Much viewers good news of the finest music to emerge from Western Canada. This is a dream job for Chris, sine he was born and raised in the West, and loves everything about it, especially its music. It should surprise no one, then, that Chris cooked up the concept for the MuchDoes… concert series. As a result of his efforts, local bands in Victoria, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and parts of Saskatchewan have performed in front of their hometown crowds - all taped live on location and aired on Going Coastal.

Some of Chris’ finest interview moments include:
• getting naked at a pool party for nudists to ask what they wear in winter;
• feeding fried bull testicles to innocent bystanders WITHOUT telling them what it was;
• having dripping sweat nonchalantly wiped from his forehead by R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe (Hot lights? Or just nervous? You decide);
• ‘fazing out’ and mindlessly staring at the nose of Ben Harper, who was not amused;
• Helping indie bands get one step closer to their dream of making a living doing something they love.
