Ever lense these things? A top-speed motorcycle ride with a Hell's Angel. Sexy antics on a Playboy Bunny party bus. The legendary New York Dolls glam rockin' hoards of screaming fans. Wayne Gretzky, up close and personal. Probably not. But Barb has! And that's just a glimpse into what she's captured while on assignment for multiple TV networks - including Much.
MUCH EDGE
This Torontonian kicked off her broadcasting career in '93 as host and producer of two music-radio programs: one on CKUT FM in Montreal, the other on CIUT FM in Toronto. Barb's career path in music journalism got cemented at the latter. An unforgettable one-on-one with her punk idols The Ramones is what did it! In '98 she began honing her videography chops working for Citytv Toronto's news daily CityPulse. She quickly moved up the ranks, and in less than two years she became Entertainment Correspondent for the Q-Files, a gay lifestyle show that aired on CHUM Television's 24/7 news and info channel CP24.
In '99 she made a jump to MuchMusic as an Associate Producer and Videographer for The NewMusic and news shows FAX and RapidFAX. Then in 2003, Barb's slick on-camera style landed her a videography gig for the current affairs daily Toronto Tonight, which aired on the now defunct Toronto 1 channel. She even revved up her street cred as host of a motorcycle lifestyle show in 2004. Face it, the gal's got edge!
SsssssEALING THE DEAL
A pink snakeskin stiletto mailed to the right Much career-maker sealed this Libra's fate. Baring the words "I'm ready to kick ass for you," Barb's gimmick was undeniably worth it's weight in postage! Backed up by more than 10 years capturing all things newsworthy - including the hottest music and entertainment buzz - she couldn't lose. Now she's all set to file for MuchMusic's news daily, MuchNews.
