Alex Galli is a 20 year-old singer songwriter who grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada. As a teen, Alex spent a great deal of his time in the basement with a pen, paper and a guitar. The talented graduate of St. Michael's College School was raised in a musical family. His uncle is Sergio Galli, guitarist for Universal Recording Artist "The Ending" and former guitarist for Juno nominated and multi-platinum selling group "Platinum Blonde". His father was the bassist for "Mace", a local Toronto band and his mother enjoys playing the piano. Since childhood Alex has been passionate about writing and poetry. He originally began writing out of shear enjoyment but eventually made his poetry public and was twice the victor of national poetry contests through school. He also excelled in public speaking and speech writing, winning province wide oral communications contests in each of his 4 years in High-School. It was only a matter of time before Alex combined his love of writing and poetry with his love for music. Over the past seven years Alex has been mastering his craft, combining mature, thought provoking lyrics and unique, ear catching melodies with his distinctive, raspy voice to tell unforgettable stories through song. Galli has been singing and playing guitar for songwriting duo "Galli and McLean" (www.myspace.com/galliandmclean) for the past 3 years. The pair have made themselves known locally playing the Toronto bar scene at such venues as Clinton's Tavern, the Smiling Buddha Bar, and the Reverb just to name a few.
