Can't Breathe by Fefe Dobson
Prom slow dance.

Stefan Brogren, the director for this episode, was heavily involved in the music selections for the prom. We sent him this song when he was looking for a tune for the dance later on, and he said it would be perfect for the slow dance. Low and behold, the graduates danced their last slow with Fefe Dobson, a perfect meld of sad, glad and looking forward to moving on.

Not In Love by Crystal Casltes ft. Robert Smith
Prom dance, Vince shows up.

This song was Stefan Brogren's choice, an homage to original version by Platinum Blonde, recorded in 1985. Crystal Castles and Robert Smith of The Cure re-recorded this version flawlessly and captured the essence of our decade, the essence that translated perfectly into the ending of one of the most memorable Degrassi crews ever.

Always by Neverending White Lights
Everything is made right.

Another of Stefan Brogren's top-choice bands, we were thrilled to find a spot for a NWL song in Degrassi. This is a special moment, where we realize everything is going to be fine, but also that new troubles are just around the corner with Katie, Drew and Bianca. Who knows what will happen next!

Young Blood by The Naked & Famous
End of episode, Sav says goodbye to Degrassi.

The bookend of this year's tele-novella, The Naked & Famous acted almost thematically through the season, and so it only felt right to end the summer with the song that began the school year. The Naked & Famous are so thrilled with the fan reaction that they were very happy to let us have this song again, and we're incredibly grateful to have worked with such a great band. Notice the lyrics as Sav sees the cement, and when he walks away afterwards.
