Degrassi Ep. 43: The End Is Near

Eli and Clare have their relationship tested, Holly J makes a decision about Sav and Jenna and KC try to prepare for the baby. Find out what went down on tonight’s Part 1 of the Degrassi Season 10 finale after the jump!

*Spoiler! This recap includes mayjah spoilers. If you missed today’s episode you can watch it here and read last week’s recaps here!

Oh, Stalker Angel. The story that has scared us all into thinking that Eli might actually think he’s Edward Cullen has been published! Yay? Eli is happy, so we will ‘yay’ this. Elated, Eli sprints to school to find Clare, who is shocked that her name is listed as one of the authors. She’s not nearly as excited as Eli would like her to be, probably because she’s still scared he’s going to start calling her Bella and kill her. You know, those kinds of things can really worry a girl.

Alli walks by at the perfect moment and Clare makes up an excuse that she and Alli need time to talk about their dresses for the dance. Eli makes fun of Clare wanting to go to the dance and tells her that it’s trivial compared to the awesome sauce-ness of Stalker Angel being published, so Clare tells him to not bother coming if he’s not interested. Snaps.

Confused about this morning’s reaction from Clare, Eli finds Adam and tries to talk to his buddy about how to fix things. Adam tells Eli that he’s being way too intense with Clare and needs to back off her and give her some space. High five, Adam! Great advice. Too bad that Eli doesn’t listen!

Later that day Eli and Clare’s English teacher pulls Eli aside to congratulate him on the publishing of Stalker Angel and to also ask him whether there’s anything she should be worried.

Seems like a valid question since Eli wrote about killing his girlfriend.

Eli assures her that he’s not nutters and she seems convinced. Me? Not so much. She does suggest that Eli should check out the gothic fiction convention in Bloomington over spring break and Eli thinks it’s a great idea.

So great that Eli gets his dad, Bullfrog (is that Irish?) to come with him when he asks Clare’s mom permission for Clare to join Eli and his parents when they go to the convention for two days in Bloomington. Mrs. Edwards is hesitant at first, but decides that Clare can join the Goldsworthy’s if she wants to go with them.

That night Clare and Eli are hanging out on top of Morty in the woods and Clare gets her dance on when a song she likes comes on the radio. Instead of joining in, Eli makes fun of her choice in music. Is there anything these two are able to agree on lately?

To break the tension Eli tells Clare that he talked to her mom and she’s allowed to travel with Eli and him fam to the gothic convention. This would probably be more exciting for Clare if she was actually goth.

Upset that Eli talked to her mom before her, Clare is hesitant to accept his invite, but finally says yes. Her lack of enthusiasm is as evident as Eli’s love of black nail polish, but he’s still happy that she’s coming with him.

The next day Eli and Adam go hunting with Bullfrog. I guess that’s kinda goth, except for all the bright orange. Eli is distracted and continually checks his phone, hoping to hear from Clare. Aadm again tells Eli that he needs to back off Clare and stop being so intense. Preach!

Although Clare told Eli she would go to Bloomington with him, she doesn’t seem so confident in her decision. She talks things over with Alli, who thinks Clare might be upset because she’s about to spend two days in a hearse with a guy who wrote a book about killing her. Yea, that could be it. Or maybe she just didn’t like what they were serving in the cafeteria today. While talking things over with Alli, Clare realizes that it was exactly a year ago that Julia, Eli’s ex-girlfriend, died. Clare thinks that’s the reason as to why Eli has been acting so intensely towards her. I just think it’s because he’s intense. Still, Clare meets Eli at their bench later that day and tells him that she figured things out and realizes that Eli has been acting differently because he’s thinking about Julia, just like he always is doing.

Eli denies this and tells Clare that he never thinks about Julia anymore, but she doesn’t believe him. Clare tells Eli that she needs a break for him and won’t going to Bloomington.

Upset, Eli goes to the abandoned church with his dad’s gun and starts shooting at the most goth-a-licious picture of himself and Julia. Aaaahhhhhh!!! Stalker Angel has a nug! I mean, gun! What is happening?!?! Is EClare no more???

The hits just keep on coming. Now that Holly J has been honest with herself and realized that she doesn’t feel the way about Sav that she should, she’s constantly evaluating their interactions. This includes playing Boggle at school. Hawt. It’s a far cry from the strip tease Holly J gave Sav at Vegas night. Holly J won’t even let Sav kiss her. Things are not looking good.

Holly J does what Holly J does when a decision needs to be made and writes out a pro’s and con’s list for dating Sav. Fiona and Anya catch her writing the list in class and tell Holly J that if she’s lost that lovin’ feeling with Sav it’s time to move on.

Fiona also tells Anya that she’s gay and Anya gives her the thumbs up. Finally! I’m so happy that Fiona has supportive people in her life. Now let’s have a Bobby-free Season 11!

Not wanting to hurt Sav, Holly J is conflicted over how to end things with him. But where, oh where, could she find a Sav Split Specialist? Oh hai thurre, Anya! As someone who has broken up with Sav more than Justin Bieber has flipped his hair out of his eyes, Anya tells Holly J that the easiest way to end things is to demand that Sav tell his parents about her. That’ll send him a’runnin!

After school Sav and Holly J are hanging out when Mrs. Bhandari pulls up.

Sav introduces Holly J as his Vice-President and Holly J takes the opportunity to introduce herself as Sav’s girlfriend. Roh row!

Worried that she got Sav into mayjah doo doo, Holly J talks things over with Fiona and Anya at The Dot. Sav walks in, suuuuper pumped to tell Holly J that he stood up to his parents and that they’re actually happy that he’s dating Holly J!

Knowing that she can’t keep lying to him, Holly J breaks Sav’s little Bhandari heart and ends things with him. Wah wah waaaaaah.

Fiona and Anya have front row seats to the Sav and Holly J breakup and Anya starts talking about Holly J and why she thinks she deserves better than Sav. Anya realizes that Fiona is in love with Holly J. Embarassed, Fiona denies Anya accusations.

Fiinally, Fiona admits that she loves Holly J and Anya promises to not say anything.

Just when you think that relationships at Degrassi can’t get anymore complicated we move things along to Jenna and KC. You know, the pregnant 16 year-olds? Alli is helping Jenna get KC’s apartment ready for the baby shower.

Jenna is excited that KC is being so helpful, until she notices that the crib he said he put together is still in the box. Hope they have a skinny baby to fit in that box!

Jenna is on the warpath and finds KC at school playing basketball. She yells at him that he’s not taking things seriously and he points out that she said he could play basketball. True, but that’s when Jenna thought he put the crib together. Point Jenna. Anyone notice Dave paying really close attention? I thought for a minute that he was about to step in.

At school the next day Jenna and KC apologize to one another. Whew. This makes me feel better about the two of them being mature enough to raise a baby. Jenna sees Dave in the hall and after he’s certain that she won’t yell at him too, Jenna tells Dave that he should throw KC a baby shower, but one that’s actually fun for guys. Oh boy. I’m back to being worried.

Will Eclare survive? Will Holly J try to get back together with Declan? Will Anya date Sav again now that he’s single? Will KC’s baby shower be the next Boiler Room fiasco? Find out on next Friday’s season finale of Degrassi, exclusively on MuchMusic at 9 pm ET!
