Degrassi Ep. 40: I’ll be there for you

Holly J’s health catches up with her, Wesley checks one of his goals off his list and Alli decides whether or not to return home. Find out what happened on this week’s episode of Degrassi after the jump!

*Spoiler! This recap includes mayjah spoilers. If you missed Friday’s episode you can watch it here and read last week’s recaps here!

After Alli left Johnny’s place she decided to go with her plan and buy a bus ticket to BC.

Johnny calls her, or calls Paris Hilton, not quite sure who that is, and tries to convince her to come back to his rez at school. Alli refuses.

Starting to realize the gravity of her situation, Alli sees a homeless kid and decides to ask him for advice.

He seems very nice and even offers to show Alli how to make money!

Unfortunately his business venture includes stealing Alli’s bag. D’oh! Too bad he didn’t snatch her wig too. I like my Alli with black hair.

Defeated, with no money and no where else to go, Alli heads back to Johnny’s place.

But it looks like Johnny didn’t keep his promise about not calling the Bhandari’s. Finally! Someone shows some common sense! Sav is waiting for Alli, but he doesn’t force her to come home.

Instead he tells her that they all miss her and that he’ll stick up for Alli when their parents come down on her for running away.

When Sav returns home the Bhandari’s are furious that he didn’t drag Alli back with him. Sav finally stands up for his sister and points out that his parents and their constant disappointment in Alli is why she ran away in the first place. You tell ‘em, Sav!

That night the family are eating dinner together when they hear a knock on the door. Our girl is home!

Alli sits down and explains to her parents that she ran away because she realized there was no way to ever make them happy. Mr. Bhandari apologizes (srsly) and agrees that the family should go to therapy together. Group hug!

Happy to have Alli home and safe they even take a new family picture together. Sooooo does this mean Alli will be back at Degrassi??? Yes, please!

With one drama in his life taking up all his time Sav hasn’t been able to pay as much attention to Holly J and the increase in deterioration of her health. Holly J looks up her symptoms on the computer, but they are so common that it’s difficult to tell what’s really wrong with her.

Hey, you know who could probably figure this brain buster out? A DOCTOR! Instead of missing any school or work she decides to self-medicate with anything she can get her hands on. Seriously, I think she needs a second locker to fit all those drugs in there. Sav wants Holly J to see the doctor and she promises that she will…after her presentation. Dang gurl, most of us try to get out of presentations with a doctors note!

Holly J makes it to her presentation, but she isn’t much help to her partner Chantay. When Holly J walks to her desk to retrieve something from her bag she passes and smokes her forehead on the edge of her desk. DANG! That looked like it hurt!

In the hospital Holly J ends up with three stitches and an IV. The doctor starts running tests on Holly J and finds that there is something very wrong with her.

She’ll have to stay put so that they can try and diagnose her, but Holly J decides to rip (I almost hurled at that) the IV out of her hand and run to her second presentation of the day with Chantay. Um, wth? Holly J, you need to simmer down!

Holly J still isn’t feeling well during her presentation to Counselor Greyson and the rest of the office, but she thinks she can finish her speaking part. That is until she loses control of her bowels and pees.

Holymolymortifying! Poor Holly J finally listens to her body and calls her mom to pick her up and bring her to the hospital.

At the hospital the doctor, who is probably not overly impressed with Holly J, tells the Sinclair’s that because Holly J let her strep throat go untreated her other organs were comprised, leading to a kidney failure, which caused Holly J to lose control of her bowels and wet herself. She is no where close to being out of the danger zone and will have to be on dialysis in hopes that it will repair her kidneys.

Counselor Greyson visits Holly J at the hospital and is so impressed with her dedication (I prefer the word craziness) to her work placement that she’s offered Holly J a summer job. Kids, the moral of this story isn’t ignore your body and don’t get treated. The moral is…I got nothin’.

Sav visits Holly J at the hospital as well and apologizes for being caught up in Alli’s situation and not realizing how sick Holly J was. Holly J tells him not to worry, but she looks pretty scared. Oh, I got it! The moral is don’t rip IV’s out of your hand because it makes me want to hurl.

Wesley is still on his quest to cross items off the list he made in Grade 7. He still doesn’t own a car, have a girlfriend and gotten himself into the Guinness Book of World Records. But if his pogo challenge works he’ll be able to change that! Dave has invited the whooooole school to Wesley’s big event, including a cute redhead who seems to be interested in Wesley. During one of his breaks she introduces herself. Hanna is a pogo fan too!

I’m just as shocked as you are! She even has the pogo lingo down. Who knew there was pogo lingo? She helps Wesley tweak his pogo to make it go faster. You can tweak a pogo? I’m learning so much.

Unfortunately, Wesley gets a little too confident and waves to Hanna while pogo’ing, loses his balance and falls, eliminating his chances of beating the world record. D’oh!

Dave and Connor want Wesley to try again, but the fall resulted in Wesley spraining his wrists. On top of that, he’s just too dang depressed at how badly he let his Grade 7 self down.

But wait! A redheaded angel appears in the doorway!

Hanna had come by to say hi to Wesley and pretty much told Wesley to ask her out. With Dave and Connor’s encouragement from five feet away Wesley gets a clue and asks Hanna on a date!

His first date! (I’m not counting Anya. She bought him. Doesn’t count.)

Will Alli end up back at Degrassi? Will Holly J and her poor kidneys be okay? Will Wesley make it through his first real date? Find out this Friday at 9 pm ET on an all new episode of Degrassi exclusively on MuchMusic!
