Narrated in the first-person voice of Jenna's blog posts, "Awkward." captures the humor within the struggles and experiences everyone can relate to from their formative years. The series picks up in the aftermath of the accident as she must deal with a new not-so-fun stigma, while at the same time managing the other daily drama that comes with being a teenager. From a secret relationship with a popular guy, to being undermined by a mean girl, and parents who just don't get it-Jenna's misfortune will eventually serve as the catalyst for amazing change, but it's not without some missteps and mishaps along the way.
Matty is the guy Jenna's obsessed with along with every other girl in school including Jenna's nemesis Sadie. He popped Jenna's cherry, stole her heart then broke it because he's not confident enough to admit that he likes her in public. Matty isn't your typical popular jock though. He's complicated because he's actually trapped by his own insecurity. While he ignores Jenna in public, in private he wants to bone and whisper sweet nothings. His inconsistent behavior towards Jenna complicates how she feels about him. Will he be able to step up before Jenna decides that he's more trouble than he's worth?
Currently living in L.A. Beau grew up on Vancouver Island in British Columbia (BC), Canada. He was actually born on a Friday the 13th, and in Seattle. He lived there for 2 days before moving up North. So Beau is a dual citizen of both countries - very helpful for TV and movie work! An accomplished athlete -- American football and lacrosse being his main high school sports, at the age of 16 Beau decided to step up his acting game and auditioned for his first feature film. He tried out for Dimension's spoof comedy 'Scary Movie 4', which was shooting around Vancouver -- and got the supporting role of the son to the lead character. From there Beau recurred on CBC's 'Heartland', landed a supporting role in Sony's 'Grudge 3' -- from a taped audition (which was submitted on a Friday and that next Friday Beau flew to Bulgaria for 5 weeks of work). Then Beau came to visit L.A. -- and never left. He literally quit his Vancouver bar job over the phone! Once in Los Angeles, Beau landed a year's series regular role on 'Desperate housewives' and is currently a series regular on MTV's new comedy 'Awkward' playing love interest 'Matty.' Beau's other film work includes a supporting role in DreamWorks' 'I Am Number 4' and a lead role in indie comedy 'The Secret Lives of Dorks'. Beau's other interests include camping, hiking, kayaking, electric guitar and supporting all the Seattle sports teams.
