Did that day JUST happen!!!???
We started the day out well because when we went to work-out (at our hotel gym), one of the New Kids on the Block was on the treadmill beside Chelsea!!!! We made our way over to our luxury sweet downtown where we had our own make-up artist and hair stylist. There was plenty of food and drink to ensure we were ready to go to our big night. We got our party dresses on and Jeremy, from Our Lady Peace, met up with us to ride in the limo. We got in the limo with Jeremy and our entourage of camera guys and chaperones. Jeremy walked us down the red carpet where everyone knew who we were from watching our blogs and seeing us on TV all weekend. We took a bunch of pics with our ROGERS phones and headed inside to check out how all of the crew’s hard work and planning came together. We wandered around the CTV building and parties, looking for all of our favourites celebs. We had drinks and even ice cream sandwiches!!! We ran into celebrities all night like, the ROGERS 5, the kids in the cellphone commercials. As well as the Degrassi kids, Simple Plan, Kalan Porter, all the eTalk hosts and the MUCH crew that had come to know us all week. We caught front row performances by Girlicious, Rihanna, Hedley, Simple Plan and the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK!!!! We saw the press room, the eTalk lounge, the green rooms and the gift lounge - but this time full of performers and presenters.
One of our favourite parts of the whole weekend was the aftermath in the MUCH environment. We stood front row as the guys from Bedouin Soundclash, Alexis on Fire, Our Lady Peace, St. Alvia Cartel and Sam Roberts. It was so laid back as guys from other bands joined in to sing back-ups to classics like the Beatles. Just unreal.
After that we headed to our VIP booth at Ultra, the after party. More free stuff! It was really cool to run into the guys from the aftermath and have them recognize us as contest winners and ask us if we were having a good time. We said hi to Brody from the hills, some of the Canadian Idol Judges and Fefe Dobson.
Over all we've had such an amazing week. We got to meet all of our favourite Canadian Musicians, chatted them up and rubbed elbows with people we would have never gotten to meet before. Seeing how MuchMusic runs the MMVAS has been ridiculous and we are excited to show our buddies back home the pictures we took on our new ROGERS camera phones. It'll be nice to get back home but we're going to miss all of our hosts and crew from MUCH and ROGERS that made it all happen. Never before has any contest winners been given such VIP behind-the-scenes access to the MMVAs and we're definitely stoked we got to be the first!
Thank-you MuchMusic and ROGERS... it's been a week we'll never forget!
