Hot Hot Heat will release their third album for Sire Records on September 11, 2007, entitled "Happiness LTD." The album is the band's first since 2005's well-received Elevator, which spawned the Modern Rock radio hits "Middle of Nowhere" and "Goodnight Goodnight."
Hot Hot Heat began writing new material in January 2005, the very day they launched a globe-trotting tour to support Elevator.
It covers the journey from bliss to misery and the attempt to get back to bliss, while acknowledging how exciting the ride can be in between.
Hot Hot Heat Give Us Something To Go On The members of Hot Hot Heat are a creative and studious bunch. While on the road over the past twelve months, the foursome found new ways to bide their time in between performances - besides staying up late and sleeping in. "I've been finding postcards and mailing them home, which has actually proven to be really fun - just to walk around an entire city to try and find a stamp and a postcard," says bassist Dustin Hawthorne. Vocalist Steve Bays wastes no time picking on Dustin, a pastime that becomes apparent as the interview continues, "My new thing is secretly following Dustin and hiding from him, around the city. It's fun and it kills time," he smirks. Luke Paquin, the newest member of Hot Hot Heat, adds, "Another thing we do when we're away from home on the road is to find a local mall and hang out. We try to relive our lost youth. We eat Taco Bell." Steve interjects, "We pretend for a second we're living our normal lives."
