In 1999, Macy Gray stepped on the scene with her critically acclaimed debut, On How Life Is. Even though she would eventually become a Grammy Award winner and sell over seven million albums worldwide, On How Life Is was initially a slow burn.
"Back then, I wasn't really thinking about the future," says Macy. "I was just so happy to be making music, I went into the studio and did what sounded good to me.
