Following up the lead-off single 'In My Place' from 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head,' 'The Scientist' is a beautiful piano ballad that is achingly good. The video, directed by Jamie Thraves (Radiohead, The Verve), cribs from the lyrics "...back to the start," telling a haunting story in reverse order.
