Crossing My Fingers

Rebecca

It's been a lot of fun being back at home in Edmonton and Pierceland. It was so nice to see my family, friends and all the anonymous people I've been talking to. But, to be honest, I really miss being in Toronto. I really hope my fellow Canadians vote me back in so I can come back to the big TO. If I'm not the one voted back in I want to thank everyone who voted for me, and if you didn't vote for me then thanks for voting for my fellow competitors, every one of them definitely deserves a vote.

I've been doing quite a bit since I got back. I've done press, threw a party at Union Hall to say thanks for everyone's support, went back to work for a bit, got my headshots done (they are hilariously awesome), and have been waiting for Monday's show to see who the wildcard is. I've also been spending a lot of time reading the blogs. I know I haven't read them all, but I've read the majority of them (you crazy Canadians and your blogging - LOVE IT!)

Thank you so much for everyone's support. It's nice to see that there is other people in Canada backing me up when people are shooting me down. Don't get me wrong, I love that everyone takes their time to blog even if it is to criticize. I take everyone's advice into consideration so I can try make the most of what I have to offer.

To anyone that doesn't think I would be a very good VJ at all: I think maybe you should have taken the time enter into the contest and live your life in front of all of Canada to critique everything you do. If you did enter - hmmm, doesn't look like you made it.

And that's where my bitchiness will stop! If I had a chance to do the contest/show all over again I sure would! I suggest to anyone who even thinks about entering something like this (whether it's Canada's Next Top Model, Canadian Idol or The MuchMusic VJ Search), definitely do it! It is very much worth it and it's not every day you get to pursue your dreams in this kind of manner.

Some people have left their email addresses for me to email them, crazy me, as of right now I think I'm gonna drop some of you a line cause you guys are all hilarious (and I mean that in a good way).

I have to say some of the most fun I've had for press was on 91.7 The Bounce with Pepper and Dylan (they were the most fun I've ever had in the morning, teehee, definitely tune in to listen—they are a blast), and with Leslie-Ann on NTV (girl, you gotta apply for the VJ Search next year). I have to say though, my favourite person to listen to on the radio in the evenings is Fearless Fred. Not only is he the most opinionated, hilarious person on the radio but he also hosts TNA Saturdays at The Union Hall. If anyone takes any of my advice right now it should be this: tune in to 100.3 The Bear Monday to Friday from 6pm - midight to listen to Fearless Fred's Radio Extravaganza.

While I'm on this giving advice wave I must leave you with another piece of quorky nonsense advice (and I'm sure this will stir up the blogs): If someone is looking for something and can't find it, no matter what it is CLAIM YOU ATE IT!
