All About Luke

Luke bears a bit of a resemblance to Tom DeLonge of blink-182. But don't let that distract you. The Winnipeg native has a diverse collection of music, knows how to get behind the wheel of a combine, and loves wearing costumes, creating elaborate fantasy worlds and performing skits. • Why should you be a Much VJ?:
  • You need a funny guy. I can be that guy. I'm already in the process of making my own late night style talk show. Plus I've never been on a plane before. So you can get some good footage of my first flight. I have red hair and look like Conan.
  • Formal education completed:
  • I'm in my last year of my computer science degree.
  • Languages spoken:
  • English
  • Last job(s) held:
  • Sold natural gas door-to-door for one day. Farmer. Cafe server.
  • Describe your personality and style:
  • Outgoing. Hilarious. Unique. My Style is "thrift shop rock", I guess. More accurately I dress for the occasion. Plus I like to wear costumes.
  • What are your strengths?:
  • You can't put a price on comedy, even if that price is my dignity. I get along with others. I'm very motivated.
  • What was the best concert you've ever attended and why?:
  • Junior Boys. On the CD the beats were so subtle, but in concert the beats would just pound through you.
  • What are your two favourite CDs, and what's the most recent you've listened to?:
  • Rhett Miller- "The Instigator", Patrick Wolf - "Lycanthropy", most recent is the new Royksopp album.
  • Name three books that have influenced you:
  • The Bible, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, If Chins Could Kill - Bruce Campbell's autobiography.
  • What magazines do you read?:
  • Thrasher, Skateboarder, Believer.
  • What are your goals?:
  • One day I want to take over for Conan O'Brien. I want to be a good comedy writer. I write my own skits and short films, so I want to keep writing.
  • What three artists would you most like to interview?:
  • Eisley, Tenacious D., Death Cab for Cutie
  • If you had the opportunity what one question would you ask...
  • 50 CENT: Instead of hip hop, why don't they call it "hip akip?" It rhymes way better
AVRIL LAVIGNE: Can my friend Mitch have your number?
THE KILLERS: Since the "synth" came back, what's the next hype instrument? The lyre?
COLDPLAY: What was it like to have Eisley open up for you? Can you hook me up with Sherri?
  • What social issues interest you?:
  • I don't have an income, but I do plan on supporting World Vision. Also, I want to increase the general happiness of the populace. I dress up in a costume at least twice a month. If everyone wore costumes more often the world would be a happier place.
  • Who, in your opinion, are the most influential artists in music history?:
  • The guy who invented the drum. Then the guy who invented guitar or lyre. Whichever came first. Then...I guess Paul Anka.
  • What does MuchMusic mean to you?:
  • A platform to hone my craft. I'm old enough to know that it isn't going to be a free ride. I want to work.
  • What are your favourite shows on Much?:
  • The Wedge, MOD, Much VJ Search starring me?
