All About Frank

He's been a student, a bouncer and a salesperson, but now Frank's got his sights set on becoming a VJ. It doesn't hurt that he's got a dashing look and a charming personality, either. Frank likes to kick back with a Kanye West or Maroon 5 CD, but his favourite live performance was Young Buck (and he didn't even buy the ticket!). Sit back and watch Frank's spur-of-the-moment audition tape now - and then read his Q&A!

Frank's Audition

  • Why should you be a Much VJ?:
  • Because I have so much to offer MuchMusic and Canada. I love music, it's my life and I want to be a part of its world. I think that I would be a great asset to the team.

  • Languages spoken:
  • French, English
  • Last job(s) held:

  • Describe your personality and style:
  • I'm real and I speak my mind, I see myself as average which is a quality of mine that allows many to relate to me. But I am still me.
  • What are your strengths?:
  • My false perception of dreams and its relevance to reality.
  • What was the best concert you've ever attended and why?:
  • Young Buck. I must admit I was only working at the show, but the man sure knows how to put one on. I'm not even a great fan of his!

  • Kanye West - "College Dropout", Maroon 5 - "Songs About Jane", Ray Lamontagne - "Trouble"

THE KILLERS: What do you mean by "I got soul, but I'm not a soldier"?
COLDPLAY: Are the rumours about this being your last album true?
  • What social issues interest you?:
  • World problems from disasters such as Pakistan and New Orleans to world poverty. Current events and most definitely the word on the streets.
  • Who, in your opinion, are the most influential artists in music history?:
  • Quincy Jones; I see him as a pioneer to my field as an artist/producer. Jay-Z; he brought new meaning to hip-hop as a business rather than an over-commercialized business/industry.
  • What does MuchMusic mean to you?:
  • Oh man, to me MuchMusic is culture, it evolves with our time and keeps the youth linked throughout our country through our love of music and entertainment.
  • What are your favourite shows on Much?:

A Little Update

Frank

Hey guys!

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times! You think life be great since the show right? Well sure it has its perks, I mean I was on TV, but what about my life? My whole life has been on ice ever since. I live in Toronto, but I been in my hometown of Montreal for the past month living everyday to its fullest. Welcomed into its open arms where the people show me love like I'm a war hero, I love 'em for that.

The people who write me blogs, and show me love, I love y'all for that as well. I'm always reading them as you know, and I try my best to respond with emails or blogs of my own.

It's just been so crazy. Norm came down with some friends; my boys came down from New York. I treated them to the Montreal nightlife I swear Norms eyes swelled when he hit strip. Ha ha, it's crazy as hell down here. I figured that I should share this with you guys...um, I was involved in a car accident, I almost died, but lucky I'm still here and my boys that where in the car as well. We hit a tree coming off the highway but we're good, the car's totaled though. My face is a little scratched up though, I had to wear a band-aid on my nose for a minute, but that was all good...if I walk away from a deadly car accidents with a couple of scratches, I'll take it any day. That didn't stop me never the less from enjoying myself, nah. I just had to explain it to every-fricken-body.

Who knew that in Montreal everybody watched the show, even les francais. I'd be walking down the streets and people be like "t'as tu gagne encore?" I was like what? That's crazy. The worst joke however was, did Erik do that, a rumour of course started by Norm (lol). We were supposed to meet 112, but Norm hadn't come down yet and I was still on ice from my accident so we skipped it and the next day we met up with some playboy models...Hot! Hot! Hot! We got footage of that and the club scene, it was crazy!!!

While I was at Steve's Music here in Montreal doing my routine equipment checkup, I ran into Lindsay Robins' guitarist; whom I guess recognized me from the show. Pretty cool apparently they too are from Montreal so you know who they are rooting for huh?

Well I've had my fun here in Montreal but I'm beginning to feel real unproductive here now so I am looking forward to getting back to Toronto to continue my music career and finish music school...uh yeah and Marianas Trench is coming down too. Maybe we can bend a few elbows after their show. These guys are wicked, I met them at the Theory of a Deadman's concert in Edmonton, they were one of the opening acts (from B.C.) also signed to 604 records, check out their album this spring. Anyways I'm just gonna give to a few shout-outs b4 I bounce - respect Brownboi, Joseph, MTL, Iceman, Cristinaaaaa, TheIleostomyKing, Choubaka, PjmC and the rest of you who have had my back from the get go!

Peace out

Frank

P.s. happy birthday Uddy (that's my little brother). Oh yeah and by the way vote or die is the slogan that P. Diddy or whatever he calls himself nowadays used to encourage youth voting during the 2004 presidential elections.
