Stephen Harper's Conservatives Win Minority Government

After calling an election in hopes of gaining a majority government, Stephen Harper's Conservatives will continue to lead a minority government in the House of Commons.

Though Stephane Dion's Liberals had a last-minute surge in the pre-election polls, they won just over half the number of seats claimed by the Conservatives, who were only a handful of seats away from declaring a Majority government.
