2002 Recap

This show sweats history. 2002 was the first year that we brought out the radness that is the John Street stage, and it was the year that Avril introduced her ass to the world. Hot on the heels of an international super-single, Avril performed "Complicated" and in doing so, exposed her plumber's crack. Mandy Moore, Korn and Nelly Furtado showed up for the fun, which included Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson getting a little too frisky for live TV. Shakira was on fire while she jangled her hips to "Whenever, Wherever", and Sum 41 almost set the place ablaze when they lit some firecrackers. Puddle Of Mudd doused the crowd with a bucket of rock, Swollen Members heated things up in true style and Bow Wow (still 'Lil at the time) harlem shaked his way into the hearts of girls everywhere.
