1999 Recap

By 1999, the MMVAs were a Canadian bad ass phenomenon, and everybody wanted to come. For the first time ever, there were more big celebrities than ever - David Bowie, Geri Halliwell, Alice Cooper...and a couple of up-and-comers by the name of Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. That's right; both at once. 98 Degrees brought out a little acapella and the Red Hot Chili Peppers would've torn the roof off if there had actually been a roof over their heads. OLP kicked the show off with "One Man Army", and Geri Halliwell shouted that she wanted to find one good Canadian man to fertilize her eggs. Gasp! Remember groups like The Moffatts, Sky and Len? Well they all performed, and Len won like a bajillion awards for "Steal My Sunshine". Ok, so it was 3.
