In 1996 the crowds were growing considerably bigger and younger - more 15 and 16-year-olds than ever before! This can only mean one thing: the MMVAs' reputation as a crazy party was spreading, but Queen Street was still open to traffic! The big headliners were I Mother Earth who kicked ass with a performance of "One More Astronaut", as well as Sloan and Bryan Adams who had each come off amazing years in the music industry. Sheryl Crow made a brief appearance in Vancouver, where part of the awards were taking place via satellite. And just to make things interesting, people wore strange costumes to fit in with the "Space" theme. Nerd alert!
