1995 Recap

Hey, remember the grunge movement of the early nineties? Nevermind that by 1995 it was hitting the skids, but for the first time ever the MMVAs feature rambunctious moshing in the audience! Leave it to Moist and the smooth vocal stylings of David Usher to get things moving. Treble Charger and The Odds also rocked the house, while Sarah McLachlan brought everyone to a rare hush with "Possession". Possibly most significant was the rise of Alanis Morissette, who performed "You Oughta Know" live from Jyrki, MuchMusic's onetime headquarters in Finland. Hey, and back then, Finger Eleven were known as the Rainbow Butt Monkeys - and let's not forget that this was the first year that the event was called the MuchMusic Video Awards!
