As Not Seen On TV

+ Our Snoops Give You The Scoop!

There are always a ton of behind-the-scenes moments that happen during the MMVAs that you’d normally never see! Luckily we’re letting you in on the action!

The boys from Blur were feeling mischievous after opening the 1997 MMVAs. Damon Albarn and his pals found a motorized wheelchair and proceeded to tear around the party. The wild ride ended when they ran full speed into a wall. Woohoo!
Lenny Kravitz took the title of his hit ‘Again’ to heart when he rehearsed the night before MMVA 2000. After running through the song twice during soundcheck, something just didn’t feel right, so he decided to rework it acoustically and jam it out with his band…for four hours. The next night, right before Lenny was supposed to be onstage for the big show, panic broke out in the control room. Apparently Lenny decided he wasn’t going onstage until he had cookies delivered to his dressing room. Chocolate chip cookies to be exact. Luckily a member of the Much crew found some cookies on a catering table and ran them to the room. Lenny barely made it to the stage in time.
During the 2000 MMVAs the boys from Korn weren’t only hungry for food, having mowed down a ton of Corn Dogs (no kidding) before hitting the stage - they also seemed to be hungry for love. As the boys waited for the elevator, they met up with Colombian rump shaker Shakira. As she passed by, Korn’s bassist Fieldy expressed his admiration: “Don’t trip girl, don’t trip, you look good, I’d tap that.” She apparently declined his advances.
At MMVA 2002, Ed The Sock dared the boys from SUM 41 to set off a few fireworks backstage. Never one to turn down a dare, drummer Stevo huddled up with SUM manager/Treble Charger frontman Greig Nori and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger and let some rip. You could actually hear the piercing sound of the cracker going off during the show!
It seemed like Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock felt like makin’ love when they were waiting backstage at the 2002 MMVAs. The two lovebirds couldn’t keep their hands off of each other, kissing rather passionately amid the partygoers and crew.
That ‘70s Show star Danny Masterson was having a bit of guest list grief when he arrived at MMVA 03. After showing up with a few extra friends, he made it known that he would not be able to participate unless his crew could come along. Everything must have worked out well, because he was later overheard saying how much fun he had and how he wanted to come back every year.
Lindsay Lohan was partying incognito during MMVA 03. Apparently the fair skinned lady had spent a little too much time outside during the day and was trying to hide her sunburn under a low-riding hat and sunglasses. Maybe she was worried that some mean girls would spot her…
The Swollen Members mixed some xtreme sports with their xtreme partying at MMVA 2003. While waiting backstage to accept their MMVA for MuchVIBE Best Rap Video, Moka Only grabbed a skateboard from a fan in the crowd and showed off his moves.
Ashanti strutted her stuff down the red carpet at MMVA 03 and stopped to sign autographs. When a fan asked for a hug, she replied “Sorry sweetie – you’ll wrinkle the dress.” Murder Inc. CEO Irv Gotti may have a “tough guy” reputation, but he was all about the love at MMVA 03! When MuchNews reporter Hannah Sung showed up in Ashanti’s dressing room with her camera crew, he gave her a hug and then went to find the sexy singer for a quick interview.
