#DoAwesome's Caley is finding any way she can to kill time before the Mountain Dew® Do Awesome Tour coming up on March 2-3 in downtown Toronto. In the meantime, she's offered some insight into the styles of skiing and snowboarding.
With less than a week to go until the Mountain Dew® Do Awesome Tour, I thought it was time to bring attention to the inspiration behind current snow style.
I'm going to give credit where credit is due, meaning the "untold" inspirations behind hill trends today, from untied boots sans highbacks [the back of the binding that supports your ankles] to GoPro helmet mounts that are all the rage these days.
The GoPro Helmet mount? More like GoPo. The Red Teletubby named Po started it all - rocking the circle shaped center headpiece seen all over the lift lines lately.
Next up, this one goes out to all of you bank robbers, theives, thugs and crooks out there. You want to look hard? Get down with some balaclava action, offering you total anonomity for those rough days on the slopes.
Like we learned from my recent interview with Josh Blasman, snowboarders like to fish. They love fishing so much that Tilley Hats are popping up everywhere. No matter what the temperature, chuck on a Tilley and you're in.
Down with skateboarding? How about surfing? No highbacks, no problem. Get your ankles in shape when no highback powder days are in.
Lastly, the tall tee, inspired by the ever flattering moo moo dress. Chuck on an extremely tall tee shirt for skiing, GTS (Get The Shot) on instagram, #instathug and you're good to go.
Hopefully my comparisons will help you come current on snow trends. Make sure to check out the Mountain Dew® Do Awesome Tour in downtown Toronto March 2-3 so that you can scope the latest styles from our invited snowboarders and skiiers. My brother Corey Vanular will even be competing and let me tell you, he is always #TRENDING.
HAVE AN AWESOME #TRENDING PHOTO? Caley will be viewing all your #TRENDING photos and may even post some of her favourites!
Oh, and make sure to enter the contest for a Mountain Dew® Blogger kit - a backpack filled with a DSLR camera, Galaxy Nexus, and Mountain Dew® to fuel your party. Then you can continue to capture the best 'that's you!!" moments.
