Markerting
Interns for the Music & Entertainment Marketing team are positioned within Consumer & Trade Marketing, which deals with implementing the strategy behind our programs, promotions and with contests affiliated with MuchMusic, MTV, MuchMore, E! and Fashion Television.
The intern works with our team across all Music & Entertainment channels by providing support on projects and will have the chance to interact with multiple internal departments (creative, digital, programming, design, communications, etc) showing you the full gamut of media advertising and production.
Responsibilities include:
•Work across programming, production, PR, digital, creative and design to implement marketing strategy
•Contest execution: aid in coordination with programming & digital, rules and regulations writing, winner fulfillment including confirmation of winners information to ensure fulfillment of prizing, prize inventory tracking, and audience coordination (where necessary)
•Social Media integration initiatives including creating daily top entertainment news blasts by way of website scanning, creating useful twitter lists and keeping in contact with influencers
•Events calendar management including keeping up to date with national tours, shows and events
•Merchandise inventory management and creation of prize packs for use with outside partners
•Video collection for varying music initiatives for the online and on-air properties
•Additional responsibilities: participation in creative brainstorms; writing/developing promotional documents such as creative briefs, tape dubbing, general administration aid, shipping and receiving, and help with mail out distributions, etc.
Recommended Qualifications:
•Be able to work independently and take initiative while being an effective team player within a cross-functional organization
•Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a very demanding, fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly.
•Outstanding presentation skills, including a strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Public Relations
The PR/Press team needs a highly motivated, professional intern. The intern will assist with communications duties for MuchMusic, MuchMore, MuchVibe, MuchLOUD, MuchMoreRetro, MTV and MTV2. The intern will be expected to work extended hours as needed (e.g. assisting with live events in the evening or to help with extra workload).
Responsibilities include:
•Administrative support
•Daily media monitoring
•Filing news clippings and compiling publicity reports
•Helping to prepare collateral materials
•Assist on-site with live televised events and photo shoots
•Drafting a minimum of four news releases
•Sourcing out requests from media
Recommended Qualifications:
•Currently enrolled in a public relations or communications college or university program
•Exceptional communications skills
•A passionate interest for a career in entertainment communications
•Commitment to learning
•Strong balance between book smarts and street smarts
•Demonstrated professionalism in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Production
The production team is a thriving department of energetic, creative people. The intern will assist in the development and execution of live shows and events, as well as pre-taped and in house productions. The intern will be able to work on a range of executions, and depending on qualifications and hard work, may be able to take the internship beyond that listed below.
Responsibilities include:
•Assist in the production of New.Music.Live., TV Specials, Rap City and/or the Wedge
•Blogging for MuchMusic.com
•Transcribing, coding and dubbing footage
•Assist on shoots, both onsite and offsite
•Support producers with fact-finding, researching, sourcing props, running errands, etc.
Recommended Qualifications:
•A passionate interest for a career in broadcast production
•Demonstrated professionalism in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
•Ability to work independently and take initiative, while being an effective team player
•Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
•Currently enrolled in a media or communications program an asset, but not required
•Preference for students in a broadcast journalism program

Digital
The digital team is a fun, fast paced and critical unit to the MuchMusic brand. We are responsible for all website production, design, and features. In addition, the intern will have the ability to work on content creation for both web, mobile and video features. The intern will also have the ability to take the internship beyond that listed below, depending on your qualifications, determination and hard work.
Responsibilities include:
•Contribution to the editorial voice of our online properties which manifests into our blog, promotions, social networks and news articles
•Updating and maintaining online show pages and destinations, including episode recaps, video barkers, photo galleries, cast bios and gossip/news
•Launching social media and digital contests
•Contribute to the programming of MuchMusic.com, including writing headlines, articles & pitching original content ideas
•Preparing images and features for the promotion of our key priorities
•Assist in the build and development of MuchMusic sites and designs
•Other duties as assigned by Sr. Producer
Recommended Qualifications:
•Ability to thrive and work in a fast-paced work environment that demands trend-setting creativity
•Ability to execute against challenging timelines
•Solid copy writing, script vetting and verbal communication skills
•Strong knowledge of music and pop culture
•Familiarity with HTML coding and Wordpress blog platform
•Extensive use with computers and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong familiarity with Photoshop for editing and optimizing images
•Fluency with online communities and social media
•Familiarity with technical specifications and formats for online video assets

Brand Partnerships
The Brand Partnerships team works on behalf of Bravo, Comedy, E!, Fashion Television, MTV, MuchMusic, MuchMore and Space, with advertisers to develop sales partnerships, promotions, contests, giveaways and integrated creative media projects. The intern will work with our team across all Specialty Channel sites (including broadcast, digital and mobile) to provide support on all projects. The intern will have the opportunity to interact with multiple internal departments (including creative, production, digital, programming, design, communications, marketing, etc), showing the full gamut of media advertising.
Responsibilities include:
•Support the Brand Partnerships team to identify, develop and execute strategic brand relationships with key partners
•Work with the team to brainstorm unique integrated marketing opportunities for key clients
•Protect the integrity of our brands while cross-promoting the Specialty Channels through partner initiatives
•Work across the programming, production, sales and marketing functions to support the Brand Partnerships team in executing integrated programs
•Additional responsibilities include participating in creative brainstorms, writing/developing promotional documents such as creative briefs, one-sheets and workback schedules, etc.
